el Το χωριό κατοικείται κυρίως από έλληνες και έχει μεγάλη παραγωγή βαμβακιού. Συνάντηση με Έλληνα εκκλησιαστικό και προεστό της περιοχής, ο οποίος τους υποδέχεται πολύ θερμά. "Οι Τούρκοι υποδέχονται ανάλογα με το θρήσκευμα. Οι Έλληνες διέπονται από μία ανθρωπιά προς όλους τους ξένους".

en Nous nous dirigeâmes, mon compagnon etmoi, versNigrita, petite ville adossée aux montagnes de la Bisaltique, sur la grande route de poste qui conduit des deux Mcesies et de la Servie dans l'intérieur de la Macédoine , et nous parvînmes directement à Nigrita , à travers des marais impraticables pendant l'hiver , et qui s'étendent jusque sous les murs de Serrès. Dans moins de deux heures, nous abordâmes à un pont nouvellement construit aux frais d'Ismaïl-Bey, soit pour la commodité des habitans de la côte nord de la Bisaltique ,soit pour la facilité des courriers et des voyageurs qui passent par cette route, en arrivant à Serrès, ou en quittant cette ville.

en Nigrita (Greek: Νιγρίτα) is a town and a former municipality in the Serres regional unit, Macedonia, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Visaltia, of which it is the seat and a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 160.888 km2. It is situated in the wide plain south of the river Strymonas, at the northern foot of the Kerdylio mountains, in the southern part of the Serres regional unit. Nigrita is located 20 km south of Serres, and 56 km northeast of Thessaloniki.
