Στη συνέχεια ο συγγραφέας ξεναγεί τον αναγνώστη στα διάφορα χωριά που συναντά κανείς στις παρυφές του βουνού, τα περισσότερα από τα οποία αποτελούνται από οικίες με κήπους, για να επιστρέψει στην περιγραφή του Ηροδότου για την περιοχή και το φυσικό περιβάλλον. Όπως και αλλού στο έργο, η αρχαιότητα και το φυσικό κάλλος απασχολούν προτίστως τον Κουζινερί.

The author then guides the reader to the various villages encountered on the edge of the mountain, most of which consist of houses with gardens, to return to Herodotus' description of the area and the natural environment. el Η οροσειρά Μπέλλες ή Κερκίνη (Βουλγαρικά: Беласица, σλαβομακεδονικά: Беласица‎, μτφ. Belasitsa) βρίσκεται στην περιοχή της Μακεδονίας και ανήκει στην Ελλάδα (νότιο και ανατολικό τμήμα, σε ποσοστό 45%), στη Βόρεια Μακεδονία (δυτικό τμήμα, σε ποσοστό 35%) και τη Βουλγαρία (βόρειο τμήμα, σε ποσοστό 20%). Αποτελεί φυσικό σύνορο της Ελλάδας αφενός από νότο, και αφετέρου Βουλγαρίας και Βόρειας Μακεδονίας από βορρά. Στο ελληνικό τμήμα βρίσκεται στις περιφερειακές ενότητες Σερρών και Κιλκίς. Η Κερκίνη ανήκει στην οροσειρά του Δυτικού Ορβήλου, της οποίας αποτελεί το νοτιότερο τμήμα.

en The mountain range Belles or Kerkini (Bulgarian: Беласица, Slavo-Macedonian: Беласица, mtf. Belasitsa) is located in the region of Macedonia and belongs to Greece (southern and eastern part, at a rate of 45%), in Northern Macedonia (western part, at a rate of 35 %) and Bulgaria (northern part, 20%). It is a natural border of Greece on the one hand from the south, and on the other hand Bulgaria and Northern Macedonia from the north. In the Greek part it is located in the regional units of Serres and Kilkis. Kerkini belongs to the mountain range of West Orvilos, of which it is the southernmost part.
