Acôtédu quartierfranc, enallantversladouane,ontrouve les ruines d'une belle église consacrée à Saint-Minas. Il y a plus de soixante ans qu'elle fut incendiée. Ce qu'on y remarque d e pluscurieux,estun grandblocdevertantique,tout-à-fait semblable à celui de la rotonde. Il paraît avoir servi pareillement de chaire à prêcher. Les Grecs modernes, ayant adopté la manière européenne de construire leurs chaires , ont retiré ce blocdel'intérieurde l'église, etl'ontplacédansl'endroitle plus écarté de l'enceinte extérieure.

Η Αγία Σοφία, ή επίσημα ο Ναός της του Θεού Σοφίας, της Θεσσαλονίκης είναι ένας από τους παλαιότερους και σπουδαιότερους χριστιανικούς ναούς της πόλης[2], ο οποίος έχει παραμείνει ακέραιος μέσα στο βάθος του χρόνου και λειτουργεί μέχρι σήμερα ως Καθεδρικός Ναός της Θεσσαλονίκης αποτελώντας ταυτόχρονα αναγνωρισμένο Μνημείο Παγκόσμιας Κληρονομιάς.
