Au sortir de ce jardin , où l'on voit une petite église très ornée , nous allâmes visiter une mosquée ancienne qui a con servé le nom de Sainte-Sophie, à qui elle était primitivement consacrée.Le terrain où elle estconstruite estvaste etombragé. Lepérystileestornédecolonnesdemarbreblancdu pays: l'architecture qui annonce la décadence de l'art, sous le Bas Empire,nemanque pas cependantd'une sorte d'élégance.Nous n'eûmes pas la liberté d'entrer dans lamosquée ;mais comme laporte étaitouverte,nous pûmes un moment en considérer l'intérieur, etnous vîmes que des colonnes lapartagent en troisnefs.

Το Τέμενος Αχμέτ Πασά (γνωστό επίσης και ως τζαμί Αχμέτ Πασά), βρίσκεται στις Σέρρες και αποτελεί ένα από τα σημαντικότερα κτίρια οθωμανικής αρχιτεκτονικής στην περιοχή. Κτίστηκε κατά τον 15ο αιώνα και συγκεκριμένα τα έτη 1492-1493 από τον Μεχμέτ Μπέη, στη μνήμη του πατέρα του Αχμέτ Πασά Κεδίν. Ο Αχμέτ Πασάς είχε ήδη εκτελεστεί το έτος 1482. Κοντά στο τζαμί βρίσκεται ο τάφος της οικογένειας του Ισμαήλ Μπέη που κτίστηκε το 1814.

Ahmet Pasha Mosque (also known as Ahmet Pasha Mosque), is located in Serres and is one of the most important buildings of Ottoman architecture in the area. It was built in the 15th century and specifically in the years 1492-1493 by Mehmet Bey, in memory of the father of Ahmet Pasha Kedin. Ahmet Pasha had already been executed in the year 1482. Near the mosque is the tomb of the family of Ismail Bey, built in 1814.
