On leaving the Bey I visited the citadel, the guard at the gate of which was turned out as I entered. I found itjust like most other Turkish forts: such guns as are not absolutely dismounted being either broken or unserviceablefromrustandneglect. Inoticedseveral large bronze Venetian swivels among them.
